Sharing of Personally Identifiable Information: VideoLectures.NET respects the privacy of the individual and undertakes to protect the confidentiality of personal information that is supplied in the course of membership and participation on the VideoLectures.NET web site.

Creation and Sharing of User Data on the Site: VideoLectures.NET provides its registered users with the privilege of adding user-created data to the site. It is the right of VideoLectures.NET to grant and revoke this right to any user of the VideoLectures.NET web site. VideoLectures.NET is not responsible for any personally identifiable information that a user discloses to sites visited and for the privacy practices of such sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the VideoLectures.NET web site.

Research
Videolectures.NET is part of a X5GON research project:

Within this project, we collect user activity data that is acquired by the X5GON snippet integrated in our system. The user data we acquire through the snippet is anonimized and consists of the following values:

User ID: This value is the identifier of the user accessing the learning material. It is created using the X5GON snippet and stored as a cookie in the users browser. The value is randomly generated, anonimized, and cannot be used to get back to the user.

Material URL: This value is the material identifier and the link that the user visited.

Referrer URL: This URL is the link from which the user arrived to the material.

Access Date: The date at which the material was accessed.

User Agents: This attribute contains information about the technology the user used to access the material.

Language: The language configuration used in users technology.

User Location: The geographical location from which the user accessed the material, e.g. city, country, and continent. NOTE: This value will be calculated using the users IP. The user IP is NOT stored in our databases.

The acquired user data is used to identify users learning interests and give personalized recommendations. More can be found on the X5GON privacy policy page.

Description of service and acceptance
VideoLectures.NET ("we" or "us") provides an online video service offering a selection of courses, lectures, and other content (collectively, "Content") available on the http://videolectures.net website (the " VideoLectures.NET Site"), and other websites where users may embed the Content (these websites, together with the VideoLectures.NET Site, are referred to collectively as the "Sites"). Our video service, including the Content and our video player, and any other features, tools, applications, materials or other services offered from time to time by VideoLectures.NET in connection with its business on any of the Sites are referred to collectively as the “VideoLectures.NET Services." We are based in Slovenia. • Non-Account Activity. You can watch videos on VideoLectures.NET without having an VideoLectures.NET Account. You can also contact us about a particular video without having an VideoLectures.NET Account.

• VideoLectures.NET Activity. Certain other activities on VideoLectures.NET —like adding favourites or posting comments—require you to have an VideoLectures.NET Account.
